Jessa has had a genuine interest in art and design from an early age. She has since become interested in the academic study of apparel focusing on craft, technique, and context. Jessa's dedication to forward thinking design landed her a summer internship with former CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year, Rodarte. She has also taken part in various local design competitions and shown during MNFashion week's Emerging Designer Showcase.
Jessa tends to approach design in a more cinematic way, drawing inspiration from film and fictional narratives. Her collection is the visual manifestation of several sources of inspiration ranging from insects to Rorschach tests. Together, these references work to tell a new story of the unknown future and the insanity the unknown may cause. While the inspiration behind the collection veers toward conceptual, the pieces themselves are not too far removed from wearable. It is in that space between theatrical and wearable where Jessa hopes to continue to work.
