The primary concept in developing this quixotic line was combining contrasting elements. Most notably with hard vs. soft, light vs. dark, opaque vs. translucent, revealing vs. concealing, and traditional vs. non-traditional materials. These contrasts challenge our concepts of how a garment shapes the body and what is “normal.” This line focuses more on the idea of creating a wearable art form rather than merely an article of clothing. The garments reveal parts of the body that are not typically emphasized, such as the elbows, while diminishing more commonly displayed body parts or concealing them all together.
